David Patón was born in 1965 in Venta de los Santos, Jaén. From a very young age, his father introduced him to the handling of different tools and at his side he began training in the art of sculpting wood and stone.
Later, he entered as a student at the School of Applied Arts and Crafts of Linares, Jaén, in the branch of metal. From 1983 to 2018 he lives and works in Madrid, where he studies sculpture with different teachers, serving as an example:
- Mr. Domingo Huertas: Popular University of Ceramics and Sculpture at the Federico García Lorca Cultural Center.
- Learning from the hand of Professor and sculptor D. José Luis Fernández. (sculptor of the Spanish cinema Goya awards).
In 2018 he moved to Fuengirola, Malaga, where he established his current residence and where he continues his training with the interest in specializing more and more as an artist. Here he works his works in the Casa de la Cultura of the City Council, by the hand of the teacher Dª. charo garcia
David Patón is one of the few Spanish sculptors who still carries out direct carving. He also works iron and bronze.
Since its inception, this artist from Jaén has been evolving towards a sculpture where feelings and emotions prevail, understanding the artistic work as an object of spirituality. He works sculpture as a means to channel both the inner world and what surrounds us, seeking to surprise and with the desire to connect with people. In his works he gives free rein to his creativity, with freshness and spontaneity, always with his enthusiasm to create. It has been like this for more than 40 years and it does not intend to stop. He has had several individual exhibitions, not only in Spain but also in Italy.
He has also participated in group shows that have been held in different cities such as Madrid, Milan, Malaga, Tetuan, Barcelona, Jaen. After participating in several biennials in Madrid, Jaén or Milan, his works have been exhibited in various national and international galleries and salons, among others: Atalante Gallery, Jacinto Higueras Museum, Eka&Mook Art Gallery, Aramart Art Gallery, ArteAdiscar Gallery, Crisol Art Galleries, Tetuán City of Arts Gallery, FeedingArt Gallery, Hc-ArtFactory, etc.
